Bob Marley: a concert-tribute from Kingston tonight tonight
Today 6 February theBob Marley’s 80 birthday. The king of the reggae disappeared at only 36 years on 11 May 1981. The Marley family, Ume and Island Records will celebrate the great artistic and cultural inheritance as well as the importance of his music and the struggle for social justice equality left by Bob Marley with a series of events throughout 2025.
The events will begin Just today, on Bob Marley’s birthday with ‘Uprising’, a live streaming concert transmitted by Tuff Gong Studios of the family, in Kingston, Jamaica.
For the occasion, Jamaican artists, artistic heirs of Marley, including Mortimer, Bugle, Kumar Fyah, Naomi Cowan, Quel Dajai, Kelly Shane and Alexx A-Game will perform. Many of them were present in the biographical film “Bob Marley: One Love”, released a year ago.
During the live streaming some of the best live performances of past birthdays, individual performances of some artists, a showcase of the Bob Marley Foundation, and more, will be re -presented.
