Billy Joel: the documentary finally has a release date

The expected documentary on Billy Joel’s rock’n’roll life finally has a release date. The film will be broadcast in the US by HBO in two episodes: the first will air on July 18, the second on July 25th. The first part of the project, entitled “Billy Joel: and So It Goes”, directed by Susan Lacey and Jessica Levin, It was previewed at the beginning of the empese at the Tribeca Film Festival, receiving excellent reviews from the press.

The documentary will retrace the ups and downs of the life and career of the voice of “Uptown Girl”, speaking not only of his albums and his hits, but also of his personal relationships and his health problems. The premiere at Tribeca revealed a very dark chapter of the musician’s life: that relating to suicide attempts.

The first part of the docu-film will also tell about the 1982 motorcycle accident which almost cost Billy Joel’s life. The second part, on the other hand, will explore the artist’s rebirth path, up to the infinite Resdidense at the Madison Square Garden. Among the interviewees also Bruce Springsteen, Sting, John Mellencamp, Nas, Pink, Garth Brooks, Paul McCartney.
