BIFF SAXON BIFord reveals that he has a tumor
With a video shared on his social channels, the Saxon frontman, Biff Byford, explained why the band had to postpone some dates scheduled for this year. The musician thus revealed that he had a tumor and to be under care.
The news comes after the group had canceled about ten concerts originally scheduled for this summer after byford had undergone an emergency surgery. With a new post, the artist has now explained that that operation was linked to a cancer tumor identified by a recent magnetic resonance imaging to the prostate gland. Byford added that, although the intervention has succeeded, it will now have to undergo a short cycle of chemotherapy, which is why other shows have been deleted or postponed. Among the canceled shows, there are the apparitions to the open air trutnoff in the Czech Republic and the Neuborn Open Air in Germany, in addition to the dates of the Spanish and French tour scheduled for September, which will be reprogrammed for April/May 2026. “We never like to cancel or postpone the concerts, it is really a crap,” admitted the Saxon frontman.
However, the singer confirmed that the November tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland will be held regularly and will see the band propose the classic album “Wheels of Steel” in full.
