BBC Radio 6 Music releases its list of the top 10 artists of the year

Little Simz, Charli XCX And CMAT they are three of the ten names included in the list of artists of the year 2024 BBC Radio 6 Music.

The trio is part of the group of artists, announced every November, who have been supported by the broadcaster and who have had a cultural impact during the year.

The full list of 10 artists was announced by Nick Grimshaw, who replaces Lauren Laverne, on the BBC Radio 6 Music Breakfast Show on Monday (04.11.24).

These are the artists of the year 2024 selected by BBC Radio 6 Music:

BBC Radio 6 Music will celebrate its Artists of the Year 2024 with a series of programmes, including two shows on BBC Sounds which will each explore five of the names on the list.

There will also be ‘Artist of the Year’ themed editions of 6 Music’s regular features on the station’s programmes. Listeners will also have the chance to hear new interviews with Kneecap on the Huw Stephens show on Wednesday (06.11.24) from 4pm to 7pm and with Fat Dog on Craig Charles’ program Friday (08.11.24) from 1pm to 4pm.

CMAT added: “A 6 Music Artist of the Year? I’m CMAT and I approve this message! Having John Grant with me on stage for ‘Where Are Your Kids Tonight’ at the 6 Music festival in Manchester this year was – and I’m not exaggerating – one of the best moments of my life xx”.
