Automotion, Liam Gallagher’s son’s band live in Italy
They are introduced in a press release as “a post-punk band”, but Automotion would “never consider themselves post-punk”. They are singer and guitarist Lennon Gallagher, 25-year-old son of Liam Gallagher, singer and guitarist Jesse Hitchman, drummer Otis Eatwell-Hurst and bassist Luke Chin-Joseph. For next January 17th, the band is planning its first concert in Italy, scheduled for the Circolo Arci Bellezza in Milan.
Automotion made their recording debut in 2021, releasing their debut single “Mind and motion” in March, which was followed by the band’s first EP, “In motion”. Subsequently the group shared a series of singles and in June 2024 he shared another EP, entitled “Dissolve”, before releasing the single “Inferno” in October and “Frenzy” in November.
As explained by Jesse Hitchman in a statement: “In the past we have released EPs that presented a certain continuity between the songs. Now, however, we have decided to focus on singles. This allows us to experiment more, without pre-set constraints. We want to create music that is not limited by the possibilities of a live performance, but that explores new sounds and combinations of instruments.”.
Regarding Automotion, which represents the first musical experience of Lennon Gallagher, born in 1999 from the union between Liam and the actress Patsy Kensit, a source close to the Gallagher family declared to the British tabloid “Sun”: “Liam is really proud . He has listened to the songs and is always ready to give him advice. He learned the art of performing from his father.”
