Atlantic Records, “House of Music”: photogallery
“If you are lucky, run into a genius, and in the musical industry that genius will make you rich”. Ahmet Estrate, founder in 1947 together with Herb Abramson of the glorious Atlantic Records label said it. Now perhaps it could no longer be so safe; The fact is that in the years from Atlantic names such as Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Stevie Nicks, Coldplay, Bruno Mars, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Bee Gees, Abba, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Xcx and dozens of others have passed. The book, 462 pages in 33 -lap album format, enclosed in the box, tells the story of Atlantic in words and images, with photographs taken by great photographers such as Annie Leibovitz, Anton Corbijn, David Lachapelle and texts signed by request Unterberger, Herb Powell and other journalists and writers, and is a complete and documented documentation of the glorious history of the label of the label record.
For the kind concession of Paschen we reproduce below some of the photographs of the book.
