Are Hole about to tour again?
Through a video published on her official Instagram profile, Courtney Love seems to have hinted at a possible Hole reunion with Melissa Auf der Maur.
The band’s classic lineup has not met again since 2002, although the group returned on several occasions between 2009 and 2012 with different members. Now, after having repeatedly hinted at a possible return, then denied, Love seems to have shared the most concrete clue so far about a possible reform together with the bassist. The signal arrived with a mysterious clip that Courtney Love posted yesterday, March 3, on social media in which Melissa Auf der Maur is seen posing in a flowing dress, while an elaborate gold ring appears in the foreground. In the background you can hear “Malibu”, Hole’s 1998 song and the post is accompanied by the caption: “So will we tell the guys on the tour?”. Auf der Maur also left a comment that read: “It all begins with love…”.
Subsequently, Courtney Love shared as an Instagram story a photo of the band in the summer of 1998 in front of the pool of the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles in which she appears with Auf der Mar and guitarist Eric Erlandson.
Courtney Love and Melissa Auf der Mar returned to the studio together in 2024 for the first time in over twenty years and, in the same year, they also collaborated on the cover of Tim Buckley’s “Song To The Siren” created by 070 Shake.
