Are Coldplay filming their world tour?
Coldplay’s record-breaking “Music of the spheres World tour” could soon become a movie. In fact, a movie based on the tour of the band led by Chris Martin was already released last year, but in that case it contained images of one of the ten concerts held by the “Viva la vida” group at the Estadio River Plate in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 2022, in front of 626 thousand fans: “Coldplay β Music of the Spheres: Live at River Plate”, shown in over 80 cinemas around the world in April 2023, allowed the band to earn 8.4 million dollars at the box office. This time, however, it would be different: the focus of the film would not be just the stop in a single city, but the entire tour.
Rumors began to spread on social media when some fans posted photos of mysterious notices have appeared in recent days outside Croke Park, the Dublin stadium, where the band performed on Thursday 29th and Friday 30th August and where they will return to perform again this evening and tomorrow. “Filming in progress”, “Filming in progress”, we read on the signs. And again: “By entering this space you are consenting to being filmed and agree that your likeness in the film may be used for future promotional and commercial exploitation”, “By entering this area you give your consent to be filmed and to the use of these shots for future promotional and commercial uses“. Some fans reported that signs similar to those that appeared outside Dublin’s Croke Park had also been put up outside stadiums in Munich and Vienna, among other cities visited by the tour.
It’s been reported these days that the takings of the “Music of the spheres world tour” have exceeded one billion dollars. Coldplay have thus become the first band to achieve this feat. And the anticipation for the group’s new album is growing: “Moon music” will hit stores on October 4th.
