Antonello Venditti: a cover of Billy Joel is ready

Antonello Vendittiin an interview given to Fatto Quotidiano on the occasion of the release of his book “Fuori Fuoco”, full of anecdotes from his life, revealed to Andrea Scanzi some interesting plans for the future.

On the occasion of the meeting, Venditti, among many memories, declared that he had recorded a cover of “And so it goes” Of Billy Joelwhich in Italian became “Because the sun never sets in Florence” which will be released next year. The Roman singer-songwriter also anticipated: “maybe with Joel we will also invent something else. He has always respected me and this embarrasses and honors me.”

It’s not the first time that Venditti has touched on other people’s songs. In 1991 in his album “Welcome to paradise” publishes the famous “High seas”, one of his most successful songs. In reality it is the cover with Italian lyrics of a 1986 song by Crowded House entitled “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. The song had good success around the world except Italy.
