Andy Summers releases “Vertiginous Canyons” EP

The former guitarist of PoliceAndy Summers announced that he will release a new EP on June 21st, “Vertiginous Canyons”, via Blue Cloud Music. The album is preceded by the single “Into The Blue”.

The new EP sees the 81-year-old British musician and photographer create new music to accompany the photographs featured in his 2023 book
'A Series Of Glances'
. Each track on the disc constitutes an audiovisual snapshot and accompanies one of the photos.

This is how Summers recounts the genesis of his new work: “This recording, “Vertiginous Canyons”, happened in a slightly different way from my normal process. I received a request from teNeues, the publisher of my photography book 'A Series Of Glances', who asked me if I could create some pieces to accompany the pages of the book. So, I projected it the photographs from the book on a screen and played with various devices and sounds for two or three hours and found my way into these tracks This approach seemed to be a sincere way of marrying the camera and the guitar: photography and the music.”
