AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL ITALIA 2025 Award: the finalist songs

There are artists and songs of various kinds and ages of the ten finalists of the Big section of the Amnesty International Italia award of Voices for Freedomthe historical recognition that goes to songs on human rights published by established names of Italian music in the previous year.

The ten songs in the running to win the recognition were chosen by Amnesty and Voices for freedom starting from the reports of the public and insiders and deal with issues different from bullying to safety at work passing through pacifism and climate change.

Here is the dozen in the race (with the indication of the authors of the song):

Fiorella Mannoia: “Disobeying” (Mannoia / Cheope / Simonelli / Colavecchio / Di Francesco / Simonelli)
Piero Pelù: “Scacconiaals” (Pelù)

The winning song will decree in the coming weeks a composite jury of journalists and professionals of the music sector who join the contacts of Amnesty International Italy and voices for freedom.

The semifinals and finals will be held live in Rovigo during ‘Voices for freedom – a song for Amnesty’, the event that combines music and human rights, scheduled for this year from 18 to 20 July.

On the final day the winner of the Big section will also be awarded.

From the first edition of 2003 of the Amnesty Prize, Big section, won by “My enemy” of Daniele Silvestrihave been awarded the prize among the other “Ebony” of Modena City Ramblers (2005), “Rwanda” by Paola Turci (2006), “My uncle” of Carmen Consoli (2010), “The black man”By Bunori Sas (2018) and“Severodonetsk”By Manuel Agnelli (2023). In the last edition of 2024 the prize went to Diodato with “My land”.
