After 21 years the WHOs bring back “Love Ain’t for Keepin”

The first show of Whoho to the 2025 edition of the concert series of Teenage Cancer Trust It was held last night at the Royal Albert Hall, an event that saw the return of the series after a period of absence.

The event began on March 24 and saw performances of artists such as i Sex Pistols, Frank Crankcaseand an evening of comedy with Micky Flanagan, Romesh Ranganathan, Katherine Ryan and James Arthur.

The event had as protagonist Roger From thewhich is the honorary patron of the Association Teenage Cancer Trust and director of the events organized by the Association, who played in concert with Pete Townshend and the rest of the band that accompanies them.

The WHOs have fished iconic songs like “from their pastPinball Wizard“,”Tea Seeker“,”My My Generation” And “Well Blue Eyes“, but the real novelty was the live execution of”Love Ain’t for Keepin“, A song that has not been played for over twenty years.

This song, taken from the 1971 album “Who’s Next”, has aroused great enthusiasm among fans.

A particularly touching moment of the show was when Daltrey dedicated “I can see for miles“To a nineteen -year -old girl, suffering from Ewing’s Sarcoma, who inspired him and the public with his determination and positivity despite the severity of his illness. Daltrey underlined the importance of early diagnosis for young people and expressed his support for the association, highlighting the difficulties that charitable organizations are facing.

The concert ended with the performances of “Baba O’Riley”, “Won’t Get Foled Again” and “Tea & Theater”. During the show, the guitarist Pete Townshend thanked the public for the support, underlining the importance of participation in the charity cause. Tonight (Friday 28 March) will go on stage i The Corrswhile on Saturday there is a line-up edited by the founder of the Erased Tapes Records label, Robert Raths (Aka Ghostetto). Among these there will be the Penguin Cafe, Daniel Brandt, Douglas Dare and Hatis Noit.

It is news of the past few days that the TCT concert series of next year will be curated by Robert Smith of The Cure (Read here). The decision was made following the step back of the founder of the series, Roger Daltrey. Last year the musician confirmed that he would end his activity as a performance of the concerts of the teenager Cancer Trust, after managing the series for 24 years.
