AFFRA reveals “Cuídame”, second preview of their debut album

AFFRA releases “Cuídame”, a song in which we find the refuge about which he will sing in “By braiding my sorrows”his next album.

“By braiding my sorrows”their debut album, will be released on November 6 via the label Say It Loud. With it culminates the process that has led her to build her own musical project after several years dedicated to MOUNTAIN SICKNESSthe duo that makes up Daniel Happyand to be a chorus girl Queralt Lahoz.

In “Canto”, her first preview, the artist claims the healing power of art and her own voice as a refuge, with references in Mayte Martin, Chavela Vargas either Atahualpa Yupanqui. Now she shares “Cuídame”, a luminous piece that can be translated as a hug with herself, to continue the healing line of the album.

The album as a whole responds to its author’s need to transform wounds into hope. She herself describes it as when “some indigenous women braided their hair to leave their sorrows there and prevent them from taking root in their hearts.” AFFRA interweaves past and present, land and roots in its album; and he does it relying on his cathartic voice, between a flamenco guitar and with choirs.

The official live presentation of the album will be on Saturday November 28 in the room Tradicionarius of Barcelonain a concert that has already sold out, and will then perform again on Thursday December 10 in it Teatre L’Aliança de Mataró in the Músiques Tranquil·les cycle December 10.
