Adult DVD express their raver rock in “Jesus Christ Supercar”

Adult DVD is one of the new British bands that has decided to combine electronics with rock again to make us dance again like in the times of the dance punk and of the new rave. The result is songs like “Jesus Christ Supercar.”

If there’s one thing British bands have known how to do, it’s combining the raver spirit with rock and indie. It happened with the Madchester bands, with the grebo bands and it happened with the new rave bands. In fact, we have recent examples such as Fat Dog. Well, add the new kids from Leeds to the list, some Adult DVDs who will release their self-titled debut album this Friday.

It is evident that Brexit has led British bands and Irish bands to go to extremes, to sound uncomfortable, to sound hedonistic, to avoid sounding tamed. Hence, the United Kingdom right now has names that are really giving new energy to independent music. The signing came about after seeing them at South By Southwest in Austin.

Adult DVD, a sextet from Leeds that is raved about live, will make their full-length debut this Friday with Fat Possum Records, curiously an American label. Just two days before releasing the album, the. group shares a new single.

The album will include a total of twelve songs including “Jesus Christ Supercar”, “Cowboy On Aisle Three” and “Real Tree Lee”, which have already been heard as previews. The group will begin to present the album in different parts of Europe, as well as at new talent festivals such as the Iceland Airwaves Festival (November 5, Reykjavic, Iceland).
