“Accept my condition”, last preview of the new album by Los Punsetes
The Punsetes are back with “I accept my condition”, a new hit that serves as the latest preview of their next studio work, “A river of unbridled anguish”.
Faithful to their corrosive and unmistakable style, the Madrid band turns radical acceptance into an authentic nihilistic self-help manual to survive contemporary chaos in less than three minutes. Far from modern stoicism or business self-help discourses, Los Punsetes’ proposal is born from absolute exhaustion and the lucidity that disappointment grants.
With more than two decades of experience behind them since their formation in Madrid in 2004, Ariadna, Jorge, Chema, Luis and Manu have established themselves as an indispensable reference of independent indie rock in Spanish throughout their seven studio albums and true anthems such as “Tus Amigos”, “Opinión de Shit” or “Una Persona Suspicious”.
Musically, “I accept my condition” recovers the most hardcore punk of the Madrid quintet based on rapid chord changes, syncopated drums and a voice overflowing with aggressiveness. Their first preview, “Una persona triste”, already laid the foundations for the album and demonstrated that the band maintains its characteristic melancholic bad temper intact.
Throughout a tracklist of twelve cuts – with titles as suggestive as “Baal”, “The Year of the Horse” or “Declaration of a Natural Person” – the group draws the map of a new collective crisis. ““A river of unbridled anguish” has been produced by Paco Loco and the band itself. It has the mixture of Sergio Pérez García (Svper) and the master’s degree Greg Obis (MJ Lenderman, Slow Pulp) in Chicago Mastering Service.
