AC/DC ready for first tour in eight years: rehearsal photo

AC/DC are ready to embark on theirs first tour in eight years: the next May 17th the Australian band, which held its first concert in seven years at the festival Power Trip of Indio last October, will kick off the new tour “Power Up European Tour” dedicated to the latest album “Power Up” (read the review here). The concert series also includes an appointment with Italian fans scheduled for May 25th at RCF Arenathe open-air space in Reggio Emilia already known as Campovolo (here are the details of the date).

While waiting to start the tour, the “Back in black” group shared a photo from rehearsals on social media showing the new lineup. The current incarnation of the legendary Australian band features longtime members Brian Johnson and Angus Young on lead vocals and lead guitar respectively, along with rhythm guitarist Stevie Young (Angus' nephew), drummer Matt Laug and bassist Chris Chaney.

Laug made his AC/DC debut at Power Trip last October, after drummer Phil Rudd revealed he would not be performing at what was the band's first live show in seven years. Chaney is best known for his time in Jane's Addiction and recently replaced Cliff Williams after retiring from touring. For Johnson it is instead a return to tour with the group after leaving the band in 2016 due to hearing problems, which saw him replaced by Axl Rose.
