AC/DC: On YouTube a documentary on the beginning of the band in Sydney
A new video is available on YouTube which in thirty minutes deepens the history of the beginning of the AC/DC in Sydney, Australia. The documentary was made by Tom Compagnoni, producer and video editor based in Sydney, with almost 20 years of experience in the creation of documentaries and special services for “The Syding Morning Herald”, “The Age”, “HuffPost Australia” and “Aap”.
The movie, entitled “Exploreing AC/DC’s Forgotten Sydney: Lost Landmarks of Rock History”, visible in the video above, is a personal journey through the city, to discover the places where the band tried, performed, recorded and grew – from the first concert at Chequers to the Burwood house where Angus and Malcolm Young learned to play the guitar. (then demolished to make room for a skyscraper).
In the official description of the video by Tom Compagnoni, we read: “The AC/DC are one of the greatest rock bands of all time – and they were born in Sydney. Although the Burwood Council recently commissioned a fantastic mural in honor of Angus and Malcolm Young, in the rest of the city there are no statues, commemorative plates or important recognition of the band. History are neglected – or even demolished “. He adds: “In this documentary by embarking on a personal journey through Sydney to bring to light the forgotten places of the history of the AC/DC – from the first tests to Newtown to the first concerts, from the studio sessions to the burial place of Malcolm Young. Along the I reflect on how Sydney trait the heritage of the AC/DC compared to other cities that celebrate their icons of the Rock – in particular Liverpool. United, that I recently visited on a personal pilgrimage between the symbolic places of the Beatles.
The AC/DC will return to concert in Italy next July. The date to be marked on the calendar is that of July 20 and the appointment with the historic Australian band is set at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari international car driver in Imola. At the opening, the Pretty Recklesss will play.
