ABBA releases “The Singles – The First Fifty Years” box set

Last spring, the fiftieth anniversary of the victory at the Eurovision Song Contest on 6 April 1974 was celebrated with “Waterloo” the celebrations for the ABBA are not finished yet. On October 25th Polar Music International will release the singles box set “A-side”, “The Singles – The First Fifty Years”The compilation brings together for the first time not only all the singles from the ABBA published by Polar until 1982 but also those from the last album “Voyage” (read the review here) of 2021.

The 1982 double album “The Singles – The First Ten Years” is then ‘updated’ with all the singles released by the band from 1972 to 2022. Available in Box 4LP and Box 2CD, “The Singles – The First Fifty Years” It’s a journey into the music of the Swedish band starting from the group’s debut single “People Need Love” (1972) up to “No Doubt About It” (2022). The 38-track set includes songs such as “SOS”, “Mamma Mia”, “Fernando”, “Dancing Queen”, “Knowing Me, Knowing You”, “Take A Chance On Me”, “Chiquitita”, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Super Trouper”, “One Of Us”, “Don’t Shut Me Down” and more.

“The Singles – The First Fifty Years” It also contains four tracks not released as singles by Polar Music worldwide: “Till Morning”, “Angeleyes” (a double A-side with “Voulez-Vous” in some countries), “Lay All Your Love On Me” And “When All Is Said And Done”The box also includes a booklet with liner notes signed by Carl Magnus Palm.
