A new single for Italoconnection
Italoconnectionthe Italian disco duo, unveils the first single from their next album, which features the Italian Alex Rossi and the two New Yorkers Bunny.
“Everyone is there at L'Haçienda, the proletariat and the bourgeois (…) the acid and the ecstasy, the DJs are the kings”. These words echo in “The haçienda”, a song just released by the duo Italoconnection on Kwaidan Records/Idol, which portrays the ferment of the famous Manchester acid-house club.
The Italodisco duo invited Alex Rossi (defined as the most Italian of French singer-songwriters, author of songs in Italian in France) to sing in French in this tribute song and the New Yorkers Bunny X (they sing in English), for some danceable choruses. A highly successful collaborative effort, which bodes well for Italoconnection's next album.
But who are Italoconnection? Behind this name lies the fruit of over twenty years of friendship and occasional creative meetings between two agitators of the Milanese electronic underground scene: Fred Ventura And Paolo Gozzetti. With extreme continuity and great clarity of purpose, they have produced, arranged and mixed a multitude of dancefloor tracks in their individual careers.
Since 2010 the two Milanese have decided to join forces and give more continuity to their electronic forays using the pseudonym Italoconnection which clearly suggests the desire to revive the glories of the Italo disco of the early 80s in a modern and not ostentatiously retro form.
In fourteen years of activity, Italoconnection have a handful of records, EPs and collections of remixes to their credit.
Fred Ventura began his career in 1979 as a drummer in various punk and new wave bands and later as vocalist for State Of Art, new wave band born in '81. In 1983 he began his solo career, becoming one of the spokespersons of the Italo Disco scene and producer. In the 90s he founded and directed the techno-house label Evolution Records and the eclectic Milano 2000, he published 3 albums with the alias Vibrazioni Productions and with Enrico Colombo he created the Bedroom Rockers production team with which he published an album for Universal Records and several remixes for international artists. In 2010, together with Paolo Gozzetti, he created the Italoconnection team. Since 2012 he has directed the Disco Modernism label.
Paolo Gozzetti he is a producer, sound engineer and remixer, as well as the mind of the electronic project Sigmatibet (with Michele Castellani), pioneer of Italian techno and electronica. As a programmer and producer he has worked with many names in the music scene.
