CMAT joins Elton John in the carol “Step Into Christmas”
Two generations united in a new version of “Step Into Christmas”. Elton John and CMAT They perform the song for Amazon Music.
A new selection of Christmas songs exclusive to Amazon Music Original have been released, all performed by quality artists. The main theme is a version of the classic “Step Into Christmas” performed by the British Elton John and the Irish CMAT.
Although they are not alone, as there are also reinterpretations of Christmas classics and original unreleased releases from The Beaches, The Head And The Heart and more artists, as well as new collections of Christmas items from Mariah Carey and Pentatonix.
Originally composed by Elton John as a thank you gift to his fans, “Step Into Christmas” has become one of the most iconic Christmas classics. This new version preserves the lively rock and roll rhythm and the cheerful sing-along chorus of the original song, to which is added CMAT’s personal interpretation and new musical elements.
It is a song that talks about the pleasures that Christmas brings us, an idea with which both artists have connected. Regarding this collaboration, Elton John has commented: “I have loved CMAT since I first heard her and watched her videos years ago. She has an incredible personality and an extraordinarily biting sense of humor. You can tell that rock and roll, country and Americana are at the heart of her music; we are kindred spirits in many ways. That’s why I was so excited about the idea of collaborating with her on ‘Step Into Christmas’. She has done an incredible job.”
As for CMAT, she adds: “When I listen to Elton John’s music, I’m seven years old again and I’m in the back seat of my mom’s car. It doesn’t matter how old I am or how famous I become: as long as I listen to Elton John, I’ll be that seven-year-old girl in the back seat of my mom’s car again. Reconciling that feeling with the reality of being able to work with him has been disconcerting, to say the least, but also the greatest joy of my life. Christmas is what I love the most. like in the world, perhaps only after Elton John. I want to invite everyone to celebrate Christmas with us and make their Christmas dreams come true.
This new Amazon Music Original joins the catalog of Christmas songs available exclusively on Amazon Music such as “XMAS” (Kylie Minogue), “Christmas Tree Farm” (Taylor Swift), “Cozy Little Christmas” (Katy Perry), “The Christmas Song” (Olivia Dean” or “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” (John Legend), among others.
