David Bowie will be resurrected in an immersive concert

The experience will recover a legendary concert recorded in 1978 at Earls Court in London during the tour of “Heroes”whose 35mm footage remained hidden for almost half a century. The project, developed among the artist’s assets, wonderworld and the filmmaker Brett Morgen (“Moonage Daydream”), seeks to blur the border between a concert film and a live show.

To achieve the optical illusion that Bowie is physically on stage, the production will combine state-of-the-art transparent LED screens, immersive audio mapping by the winner of the Oscar Paul Massey (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) and lighting designed by Patrick Woodroffe. Morgen discovered this unpublished material a decade ago, but it was not until 2024 when the initiative gained definitive momentum with the incorporation of the promoter Rob Hallett.

The world premiere of Stage will be February 14, 2027 in the Berlin Uber Arenain collaboration with the city’s Film Festival, and tickets go on sale this Friday. After passing through the German capital, the tour will travel through Europe between May and July, culminating back in the historic Earl’s Court. This event will also mark the beginning of “Bowie80”the great global celebration for what would have been the musician’s eightieth birthday.
