Everything But The Girl returns to the guitars in “Young and Dumb”

Everything But The Girl They will publish their eleventh album on February 19, 2027 after previewing the single “Young and Dumb”, now available on platforms.

The iconic British duo formed by Tracey Thorn and Ben Watthas announced the launch of “Blue Reservoir” for next February 19, 2027 through Buzzin’ Fly / Virgin Music Group. “Young and Dumb”, the first preview of the album, is accompanied by a video clip directed by Edward Bishop and written by the couple themselves.

This new work moves away from the brilliant electronics of “Fuse” (23) to delve into a direct sound focused on guitars and voice. Inspired by the intimacy and freshness of his residence in the MOTH Club London in 2025, the album was born during a creative outburst in early 2026. The album’s ten songs combine Thorn’s voice with touches of folk-blues, Latin nuances and naked harmonies.

The album was produced by the band itself and recorded in just ten days in the legendary RAK Studios London next to the double bassist Rex Horanthe drummer Evan Jenkins and the percussionist Fabio de Oliveira. The recording also had the special participation of his son Blake Watt on two tracks and with additional harmonium and celesta arrangements recorded by Ben Watt in his home studio.

To accompany the announcement, the group will continue to expand its sought-after intimate performances at the MOTH Club and the Union Chapel London before taking these shows to other cities in 2027. Under the name of “Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn”the couple will review both songs from their joint career as well as their solo careers and unreleased versions.
