Richard Bellia will exhibit his historic photographs in Barcelona

The name Richard Bellia should ring a bell. Countless important names have passed through his lens since he began photographing musicians in the early eighties, both in the studio and live. It features snapshots ranging from The Cure until The Clashpassing through Nirvana, Fontaines DC, Iggy Pop, Midnight Oil, Slowdive, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pulp, David Bowie, Siouxsie, PIL, Cocteau Twins, The Cramps, The Jesus And Mary Chain and a long etcetera.

The artist himself compiled more than a thousand photographs of himself from forty years of experience in the book “Un Oeil Sur La Musique: Texts and photographs 1980-2016”although the most curious thing is that Bellia points out about her career: “I don’t like photography very much. I’m not very interested, really. I like it much more and I am more comfortable listening to music. I prefer the company of people who love music than photographers, who are all the same. I far prefer music. “Music is my first love.”

As for the exhibition, on Friday, October 16, it will be open from 10:30 in the morning. At 7:30 p.m. there will be a talk moderated by Joan S. Luna, editor-in-chief of this house.
