SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia celebrates ten years in Formentera. A decade offering a totally different vision of what it is to experience a festival.

From October 2 to 4, the tenth anniversary edition of an ideal festival for those who flee from the largest and noisiest festivals will be celebrated. It will be a very special event again for a capacity of three hundred and fifty people who will be able to experience very special concerts in some of the most beautiful corners of the Balearic island.

For this ten-year edition, the festival will recover several of the artists who have graced its stages during this decade, to which new names will be added, and will return to some of the spaces that have contributed to building its essence, also incorporating new enclaves. All this while keeping its three identifying marks intact: secrecy, musical quality and positive impact.

And one of the keys to its uniqueness is in its lineup secret. The poster and much of the programming will not be known until the beginning of the festival, inviting those who participate to be surprised and discover artists, places and experiences without preconceived ideas. Big names and emerging proposals will meet again in unexpected settings and in a format of maximum proximity between artists and the public.

Those who have attended the festival over the years have been able to enjoy up to seventy-eight artists who have performed in more than eighty concerts, in addition to almost twenty quality DJ sessions. And artists such as The Vaccines, Baiuca, Maria Arnal i Marcel Bagés, Carlos Ares, Roosevelt, Queralt Lahoz, Israel Fernández or Jorge Drexler, along with emerging international proposals such as KABEAUSHÉ, Pongo, Crystal Murray or Los Bitchos.

Furthermore, the celebration of the tenth anniversary coincides with a new milestone in the environmental commitment of SON Estrella Galicia Posidonia, which has just obtained the TRUE Zero Waste Platinum certification for the third consecutive year. The festival thus remains the only musical event in the world with the highest recognition from Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), after achieving a waste diversion rate of 99.3% in its last edition. This achievement is part of a positive impact strategy present since the birth of the project, which encompasses decarbonization, the circular economy, responsible tourism and the protection of Formentera’s environment, with initiatives such as the Save Posidonia Project.

Throughout this decade, the festival has carried out more than 30 routes by land and sea together with more than 50 local experts, which have allowed us to get closer to the history, archaeology, flora and fauna, marine biology, ecology and astronomy of Formentera. In addition, its attendees have walked more than 60 kilometers around the island, turning each edition into an opportunity to discover it from different perspectives.

That connection also extends to gastronomy. During these ten years, more than thirty restaurants and chefs from Formentera have participated in the construction of a gastronomic proposal closely linked to local, local and seasonal products. Music and gastronomy will once again coexist with another of the pillars of the experience, beer culture, through different moments and proposals designed to discover and enjoy it in a different way.
