U2 release “Silencio” and announce album date
It seems that this time U2 They have kept their promise. Since 2024, The Edge has been saying that this new album would be quite rocky and now we get “Silencio”, one of the group’s most guitar-driven songs in recent years.
“Carnival of Light”U2’s sixteenth album, will be released on November 13 and now we can begin to get an idea of what we are going to find. And it looks like perhaps the Irish are in better shape than they have been in recent years.
“Silencio” fulfills the promise of being a rock song, although that sound is always moderate in the hands of U2, even more so with the production of Jacknife Leewho has also been after “Days of Ash” and “Easter Lily”the EP’s that the group published last year.
But there are even more surprises, since when the album was announced, it was shared that it will feature the last duo that was recorded. Dolly Parton before passing away (the song “Torn”, which closes the album).
On the other hand, collaborations from names such as Brian Eno, Martin Garrix, Daniel Lanois and Ryan Tedder in recording tasks, synthesizers, additional production, etc.
The album’s track list will include “Go (Carnaval de Luz)”, “La Reina”, “Street Of Dreams”, “The Mirror Maker (Rosalía)” – they cite the Spanish artist as inspiration for the song -, “Superficiality”, “If The World Is At War We Better Not Be”, “Silencio”, “The Greatest Show On Earth”, “Glorify”, “Midnignt Sunshine”, “Can’t Stop Us Now” and “Torn”, the latter featuring Dolly Parton.
