Ministers: the new EP “Canzoni Ombra” is released

Ministers announce “Shadow Songs”, ep which collects songs left out of previous albums but never forgotten by the band. The project was born from an experiment started in 2022, when some tracks were shared only via newsletters to fans, with the request not to spread them online: a promise fully respected by the community. After the tour of “Aurora Popolare”, the group decided to recover that material, reworking it in the studio together with Ivan Antonio Rossi and adding two unreleased songs. The result is a work that brings to light songs that have remained on the margins of the official discography, but are still current and necessary. The focus track of the EP is “Gente che ostina a vive”, defined by the band as a song about daily resistance and on the ability to move forward even when everything seems to be going against you.

The artwork also follows the visual path already undertaken by the group: after the reference to Munari’s graphics for Einaudi used in 2021, the cover of “Canzoni Ombra” is inspired by historic musical scores. The release will also be accompanied by a 12” one side vinyl LP with smooth B side, case packaging and black inner bag. Pre-order is available on Ministri Official Store. The live dates for summer 2026 will also start together with the EP, already announced at Italian festivals and outdoor stages. “The ‘Shadow Songs’ are songs left out of our albums for the most disparate reasons, pieces sitting on the opposition benches waiting to go into action – explain the Ministers – in 2022 we decided to share some of them with our fans, through our newsletter, and asked them not to upload them online, to keep them as a little secret between us and them. Thousands downloaded them but, incredibly, everyone was faithful to the pact: no one shared them on Youtube or elsewhere: our trust-based recording experiment succeeded and our little community of listeners proved, once again, special.”
