Sal Da Vinci’s “marriage in four acts” at Eurovision

It was held yesterday evening, May 12th first semi-final of theEurovision Song Contest 2026scheduled this year at the Wiener Stadthalle in Viennain Austria, following JJ’s victory with the song “Wasted love” in the previous edition. During the first appointment with the event, fifteen nations performed out of the thirty-five in total in the race, plus three of the countries that have rightful access to the final. Italy, this year represented by the winner of Sanremo 2026 Sal Da Vinci with the Sanremo song “Per semper Sì”, as usual, he is among the rightful finalists. This year they are the “Big Four“, after the defection of Spain, therefore Italy together with France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Also a finalist by right is theAustriaas the host country. Following the confirmation of Israel’s participation, The Netherlands, Ireland, Slovenia and Iceland also withdrew from the ESC.

During the first semi-final the first official passage of our countryand at the end of the evening they were the top 10 finalists announced. Among these they ranked Greece, Finland, Belgium, Sweden, Moldova, Israel, Serbia, Croatia, Lithuania and Poland. Of the countries competing last night, San Marino represented by Senhit didn’t make it with his “Superstar” in collaboration with the British star Boy George (here is the video of the performance). Portugal, Georgia, Estonia and Montenegro also returned home.

For its part, Sal Da Vinci revealed his Eurovision performance to the public, accompanied by the choreography orchestrated by Marcello Sacchetta, present on stage together with Francesca Tocca. As already revealed in the press conference, the performance of “Per semper si” was a representation of a pop wedding in four acts, from the choice of dress to the celebrations.

The second semi-final will then be held on the evening of Thursday 14 May Eurovision Song Contest 2026in which 15 other competing countries will compete: Armenia, Romania, Switzerland, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Albania, Denmark, Cyprus, Norway, Malta, Australia, Ukraine and Latvia. The final appointment with ESC is scheduled for Saturday 16 May, where the twenty finalists chosen during the semi-finals and the rightful finalists will compete.
