Neil Young announces release of live album “As time explodes”
Neil Young and his band, i Chrome Heartshave announced the release of a new live album, titled, for May 29th “As time explodes”. The record was recorded during their “Love Earth Tour” of 2025. The project, composed of 13 tracks, includes a live version of “Silver Eagle”a song from Young and the band’s album last year, “Talkin to the Trees” (read the review here). The rest of the tracklist is made up of songs from across Young’s vast repertoire: “Harvest Moon”, “Ohio”, “Vampire Blues”, “After the Gold Rush”, “Cortez the Killer” and others still. The album also includes a live version of the new song “Big Crime”.

. Young initially announced “as time explodes” as the release for the
Record Store Day
of 2026, in a limited edition on transparent double vinyl. Now, black vinyl, CD and digital versions will be available on May 29th.

in a Neil Young Archives post titled
“Moon To Moon”
writing that recording the LP at the Shangri-La in
Rick Rubin
in Malibu “was an unforgettable experience” and will include five new songs along with three previously unreleased songs written in 1963. He previously hinted at the new project, describing the album’s themes as inspired by “the feeling of life and love” and his contempt for “the worst president in the history of our country.”
