The “Hello Starman” exhibition opens tonight in Colorno
From tonight to 28 June 2026 the MUPAC – Aranciaia di Colorno (PR), in collaboration with the Ponti x l’Arte Cultural Association of Parma, will be transformed into a virtual stage dedicated to the myth of David Bowie.
The exhibition “David Bowie – Hello Starman! XXL” (the inauguration is this evening at 9pm, “the Bowian mise is welcome”) offers a broad overview of works of art dedicated to the London genius. These are works created by contemporary artists, photographs and memorabilia that tell and reinterpret their creative universe (the image in this article is a work by Ivan Cattaneo).
The exhibition was born from the idea of the curator, Stefano Bianchi, taking shape from his book My David Bowie (Massimo Soncini Editore), reviewed here. To accompany and visually interpret the book, the curator involved various artists (from Edo Bertoglio to Andy Fluon of Bluvertigo) inviting them to create works inspired by the figure of Bowie.
10 years after Bowie’s death, “Hello Starman!” pays homage to him. The title itself recalls the alter ego Ziggy Stardust and the cosmic imagery that has crossed his entire career up to the last, intense recording chapter: “Blackstar”. The works on display dialogue with the alien, the androgynous, the dandy and the prophet, returning the portrait of an artist capable of transforming his own identity and language every time.
As a corollary to the exhibition, there will be an articulated program of collateral activities that explore Bowie’s connections with cinematographic, performative and multimedia language. Among the scheduled events, the screening of the multimedia show-platform “Just For One Day”, created by director Giorgio Magarò.
