Roger Waters seeks a voice for Pink Floyd's legacy

Roger Waters insults Disturbed frontman David Draiman

Points of view on the Israeli-Palestinian issue Roger Waters and the frontman of Disturbed David DraimanAmerican but of Israeli origin, could not be further apart. The two have long been offended at a distance firm in their positions. Draiman staunchly defends Israel by criticizing the former’s rhetoric Pink Floyd which he defines as anti-Semitic.

Recently the two had yet another clash. The leader of the United States tried to act as a peacemaker Smashing Pumpkins Billy Corganbut Roger Waters rejected the peace offer by replying with a message posted on X after Corgan asked Draiman to be open to dialogue with Waters on an episode of his podcast, The Magnificent Others.

This is the message Roger Waters: “Dear Billy Corgan, how are you? It’s been a long time. David Draiman, someone forwarded me this guy’s appearance on your podcast. I had never heard of him. He, apparently, has heard of me. He seems to have a problem with me standing up for human rights. Specifically, the human rights of my brothers and sisters in Gaza, who are being massacred in a genocide perpetrated by the armed forces of the Nazi, racist, pariah state of Israel. You, the good guy you are. six, you have given this little piece of shit a chance to clarify or at least change his position. And he has. He is a racist and psychotic Nazi pig. He writes messages about the bombs before the Israeli Defense Forces drop them on civilians in Gaza. There is nothing else to say. If, my friend, you are wondering if do I want to talk to this obnoxious little idiot? The answer is no thanks Billy, life is too short, he can stay in his little corner of hell without the benefit of my love and truth.

David Draiman
responded to Waters’ post by expressing disappointment, but reiterated his willingness to dialogue despite their disagreements. Draiman said: “And I was open to dialogue, even with someone I so deeply disagree with. Honestly Roger Waters, this is the reaction I sadly expected. It’s disappointing, but predictable. Cheer up Roger. Blessed are those who work for peace, right? I’m always willing to try. We all have to keep trying. You too.”

The attempt at reconciliation of
Billy Corgan
it occurred during the March 12 podcast episode he hosted
David Draiman
Corgan attempted to mediate by praising Waters’ musical genius while simultaneously criticizing his partisan activism. He then addressed Draiman’s call for dialogue, proposing contacting Waters for a three-way reconciliation meeting, calling it a magnificent step toward unity. Draiman immediately warned him that Waters would respond bluntly, “Roger won’t sit down with me because he can’t have a real debate; his activism thrives in echo chambers.”
