Kanye West turns the stage into planet Earth at Sofi Stadium

Last night Kanye West performed at Sofi Stadium in Los Angelesbringing a spectacular scenography to the stage: the rapper transformed the stage into a gigantic planet Earth on which he walked, giving a visually overwhelming show that recalls the Kanye of the past, when each tour became an opportunity to raise the production bar of his live shows. Ye seems to be in a phase of reconstruction: personal, social and narrative. After a public apology for his racist comments and the launch of “Bully” (here is our review), a more introspective album that leaves aside the villain mask worn in “Vultures”is now trying to relaunch also on the concert front. Fortunately, he seems to have abandoned the listening party setting, in which he didn’t sing, to return to a performative and majestic dimension, made up of impressive sets, plays of light and Kanye as the protagonist of the stageno longer a passive spectator. The effect is that of an artist who wants to win back his audience, showing both his vulnerability and his iconic charisma. It remains to be seen whether it will maintain the same approach when it lands in Europe and, in particular, in Italy, with the scheduled date of July 18th in Reggio Emiliawhere fans expect an equally monumental show.
