Madonna, a new version of “Confessions on a Dance Floor”
As we told you a few weeks ago, Madonna is working on “Confessions on a Dance Floor 2”: she has signed a new agreement with Warner Records for the publication of her new recording project, scheduled for 2026, a sequel to the 2005 album produced by Stuart Price. In the meantime, however, a revisited version of the original album is on the way. Renamed “Confessions on a Dance Floor (The Silver Collection)”, and is told as a celebration of Madonna’s 40-year career. It was released yesterday, Friday 27 March, and contains the original continuous mix version and will be available on vinyl for the first time. Additionally a related live album will be released on April 18th as a limited edition for Record Store Day. “The Confessions Tour – Live from London” was recorded live at Wembley Arena in August 2006 and contains 13 tracks.
Therefore, if an expected sequel to “Confessions on a Dance Floor” is in the plans, there will not be a sequel to “Ray of Light”, as told by the original producer William Orbit, who in recent days wrote a post on Facebook: “Let’s put this Madonna ROL 2.0 thing to rest here and now. It can get exhausting. It will NOT happen. I have an album ready which, in my opinion, is truly the successor to ROL. (…) No response. I’ve spoken to many people at her neighbors, including family, but I have not received a single syllable in over two decades.” But also “Zero, zero, absolutely zero hard feelings. I will always love that woman. Really. She made my career.”
