Sal Da Vinci: the Eurovision presentation video
«Hi, my name is Sal Da Vinci and I’m representing Italy. Ciao uagliò… It means “hello guys”, “friends”. This is how Sal Da Vinci introduces himself to the public of the Eurovision Song Contest, with two months left until the start of the 2026 edition of the continental event, scheduled from 12 to 16 May 2026 in Vienna. The presentation clip of the Neapolitan singer-songwriter was published on the Eurovision social channels, who will represent Italy on the stage of the event after winning the Sanremo Festival with his “Per semper Sì”. Between references to Italian cuisine and phrases like “my hero is my father”, Sal Da Vinci, already in the Eurovision mood, talks about himself to the Eurovisioners, insisting a lot on his Italian nature. «See you in Vienna, goodbye. Goodbye is international, eh.”
In short, the sympathy operation for the Neapolitan singer-songwriter has already started, as he doesn’t exactly arrive at Eurovision as a huge favourite. If until February 27th, therefore before knowing the name of the Italian representative, the odds of our country – regardless of everything – were in sixth or seventh place, in the aftermath of Sal Da Vinci’s victory at the Sanremo Festival, Italy collapsed to eleventh place in the bettors’ ranking. In the following days he climbed a few positions and is currently in tenth place.
