Foo Fighters: the single that anticipates the new album comes out tomorrow
Much more than a social clue: an announcement, Foo Fighters style. Dave Grohl and his associates are ready to return to the recording scene with the single that anticipates the new album of unreleased songs: it will be released tomorrow. After the interactive clip shared on the site last week, in which by clicking on the objects in the 90s themed room you could listen to short musical fragments which in all likelihood correspond to the songs that will end up in the band’s next album, Foo Fighters have now updated the page. The digital clock that was off a few minutes ago is now on. And it reveals a date: February 19th. The song that anticipates the ideal successor to “But here we are” will most likely be released tomorrow.
Fans of Dave Grohl’s band have been waiting for news on a new album for months. After the publication of “Today’s Song” last July, a song celebrating thirty years of their career, Foo Fighters dispelled doubts about their future – which emerged following the controversial farewell of drummer Josh Freese – by formalizing the entry of Ilan Rubin, formerly of Nine Inch Nails, and getting back to work in the studio. In September Grohl and his companions, as already reported by Rockol, had shared a photo on social media that portrayed them inside the 606 Studio in Los Angeles, a clue that had immediately rekindled expectations around the possible successor to “But here we are”, the 2023 album released after the death of Taylor Hawkins and symbol of the group’s restart. Subsequently, a further unreleased song arrived, “Asking for a friend”, published last October, confirming that something was taking shape.
