Is dead Greg Brownthe founding guitarist of Cake. The Californian band itself announced it via social channels. “Greg was an integral part of Cake’s sound and early development. His creative contributions were immense and his presence, both musical and personal, will be deeply missed. Good luck, Greg.”

. On the latter album, Brown is credited with writing one of the band’s hits,
“The Distance”
.

. He then reunited for a short period with the

playing guitar in
“Bound Away”
in the album
