Don Henley thinks this is the Eagles’ last year
The 78 year old Don Henleyfounding member of Eaglesstated that he believes the band will most likely break up by the end of the year. The American group until March 28th is engaged in a record residency at the Sphere in Las Vegaspart of their infinity “The Long Goodbye” tours.
Henley said the words about the little future of the Eagles during an interview given to the television programme CBS Sunday Morning. When asked about the band’s upcoming plans, he responded very matter-of-factly: “You know, I think this year will probably be the end. I’ve said things like that before, but I feel like we’re getting close to the end.”
He added that he is looking forward to spending more time with his family and that he would like the opportunity to tend the garden and travel, he explains: “I’ve been all over the world, but I haven’t seen much of it, because we see airports and hotel rooms and concert venues and we don’t go out much.”
The Eagles they were formed in 1971 and disbanded for the first time in 1980, before returning to reform several times over the years. They are one of the most successful bands of all time with over 200 million records sold. Their collection “Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975”released in 1976, is the best-selling album of all time in the United States. So much so that theLast month it became the first album everalso in the United States, to reach 40 million copies sold.
