Jack White touches it softly: “Trump disgusting, vile and loser”
What a Jack White not liking the current President of the United States is no mystery: already last year he complained after the staff of Donald Trump had used his White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army” in a clip depicting Trump traveling on his presidential campaign. This time, however, the criticism becomes even harsher.
At the center of attention are the words shared on the President’s official profile regarding the murder of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer. While tributes poured in to the director – known for “This Is Spinal Tap”, “When Harry Met Sally”, “Misery Must Not Die”, “Stand By Me” – Trump shared his thoughts on the incident via his Truth Social platform, insinuating that the death was linked to the “paranoia” that the director had towards him.
Jack White publishes Donald Trump’s words and comments on them like this:
Trump, you disgusting, vile, egomaniac, loser, child. Neither he nor any of his followers can defend this disgusting and horrible insult to a wonderful artist who has given so much to the world. Using someone’s tragic death to further your own vanity and your own authoritarian, fascist agenda is a corrupt and narcissistic sin. Shame on you Trump and anyone who defends this. God bless you, Rob Reiner, and thank you for what you have given to the world. I’ve never even met you and I’m still close to you.
Testament guitarist Alex Skolnickwas among the musicians who expressed support for White’s statement: “This is no longer a ‘political disagreement’. What this man did to society is the same thing he did to the East Wing (he tore it down). Pointing that out isn’t being ‘political’, it’s being human. I’m done with anyone who is so under his spell that I can’t even draw a line under it.”
