Two Metallica fans banned for life in Australia

Beau William Loch Rollings, 20, and Rory Hugh Culbert, 23, were arrested after scaling the speaker tower during the thrash metal giants’ concert at Perth’s Optus Stadium on November 1. Yes they are hold on to the scaffoldingat heights ranging from 10 to 50 meters, for about 20 minutes after jumping safety fences designed to prevent fans from doing exactly what the two did.

Perth Now reports that Perth magistrate Ruth Dineen said “something that seemed funny at the time” led to theindictment of both young people for violation of private property. Both pleaded guilty at the first opportunity.

The pair gave no explanation for their actions and their mobile phones, which contained footage of the stunt, were seized by police. Defense lawyer Rachael Gemmell described the antics as “simply stupid behaviour”. The magistrate agreed, stating that it was “something incredibly stupid to do and a good way to ruin your evening.”

Rollings was fined $1,000 and ordered to pay $308.80 in court costs. Culbert received a similar sanction in the same court and both were banned from the stadium for life.
