4GOT10, the Turin band from Vicio of Subsonica, are back

From January 30th it will be available digitally.”Change Your Soul”, the single with which the Turin underground band returns to the scene after over 25 years 4GOT10which launched the careers of Luca “Vicio” Vicini (subsonica bassist) e Alberto “Vacchio” Vacchiotti (guitarist of the Soledad Brothers).

In addition to the veterans of the group, Marco “Mark” Previato, Elena “Ele” Crolle, Mattia “Matt” Barbieri and Iacopo “Ia” Arrobio complete the lineup.

“Change Your Soul” is signed Vicini/Vacchiotti.

The story goes that way back in 1989 in Valsusa three eighteen-year-olds form a band, the Forgotten Sons, which starts from the idea of making heavy metal by fusing it with new wave and pop and lyrics strictly in English.

The guys in question are Mauro Ala (vocals), Alberto Vacchiotti (guitar) and Luca Vicini -Vicio (bass). Three other musicians complete the lineup.

Over time and in writing, the band moves towards a more pop direction and the audience grows, attracted by the mix of easily memorized pieces and stage presence.

The first release was an EP on cassette with four songs, distributed throughout Italy by CGD/Ricordi and with excellent reviews in the music publications of the time.

In 1992 the band broke up but in 1995 they tried again with the entry into the lineup of Iacopo Arrobio, already with Sick Rose. There band with the new lineup resumes writing with a drier sound and in step with the times and playing concerts until around 1999 when the singer’s move to Spain and Vicio’s entry into Subsonica definitively put an end to Forgotten Sons, but now after more than 25 years they reappear with new remains.

The rebirth begins in 2021, in the midst of the pandemic, Vicio and Vacchio they decide to revisit old tracks, given that both have now become producers with their own private studio.

The idea is to transform old songs into something super current, but for the simple pleasure of doing it, exchanging files remotely.

All is silent until 2024, when Vicio puts his hand to melodies and lyrics again, singing himself in a sort of demo of something that slowly seems to become a real album.

By mutual agreement with Vacchio, it is decided to involve as a singer a young man from Turin, Mark (Marco Previato), of whom Vicio is the producer of the Proibito project – and his keyboardist Ele (Elena Crolle). On drums comes Matt (Mattia Barbieri), one of the best drummers of the new jazz and pop scene. Ia (Iacopo Arrobio) remains to support Vacchio on guitars and the band is ready. The new 4GOT10 are born.

In Fabius’ study, Point V is completed the first album, consisting of 12 songs and an instrumental intro. The sound moves within the great international pop league, with great use of choirs, guitars, synths and lots of groove.

The lyrics delve into the depths of sentimental relationships, without missing a bit of irony.

Luca Vicini says

The biggest surprise of revisiting songs written 30 years ago was realizing that the potential was more current than we thought, as if they had been written now. Same wonder in discovering that we could write others, with the same enthusiasm as then. 4GOT10 are a family made up of people of extremely different ages and this further highlights this feeling of temporal cancellation, with a single strong direction: to create and play songs that move people’s emotions.
