Willie Nelson is ill: he misses his festival debut
Willie Nelson is not well. The 91-year-old king of American country is forced to skip the debut of his “Outlaw Music Festival Tour”, a traveling festival in the USA which will involve – among others – Bob Dylan and which started yesterday from Alpharetta, Georgia. The announcement came just before the ideal starting whistle of the event: “We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not well and that, on doctors’ orders, he must rest for the next four days. He should recover shortly and join all ‘Outlaw Music Festival in the coming weeks’. His son Lukas Nelson and his Family Band paid homage to him on stage.
The “Outlaw Music Festival” will continue throughout the summer, until late September. The calendar currently includes 26 dates, the last of which is scheduled for September 20th in Gilford, New Hampshire.
Willie Nelson, born in 1933, released his latest album last September, the seventy-fourth of his career, “Bluegrass”, for which he enjoyed revisiting songs from his repertoire in a bluegrass key.
