Who’s behind First Room on the Right?

A few lines of explanation and that’s it, then space for the music, for the first song. “First room on the right is a place where you can experience emotions, relive the past and travel with your mind. Behind the project is a 21-year-old artist with moving and immediate lyrics, a unique falsetto and an experimental production style, all condensed into a very compact song form. Everything in his music is a mantra.” This is the profile that can be found on digital platforms by searching for Prima stanza on the right who is making himself known musically with the single “Ti amo”, while for now little or nothing is known about who is behind this project. What is striking is the sound of the song, a trip hop universe that seems to mix the generational inspiration of thasupwith whom he also shares confidentiality, with the dreamlike atmospheres of M83French dream pop/shoegaze musical group, founded by Nicolas Fromageau and Anthony Gonzalez in Antibes, France, in 1999. A piece to listen to on loop that actually takes you inside a world.

On that sound fabric on which the mantra “I love you” unfolds there is also Brail’s signatureor Iacopo Sinigaglia, composer, producer and sound designer, who has already collaborated with Madame, Ditonellapiaga, Coma Cose, Ariete, Psicologi and Mannarino. Brail, together with Bias, formed an avant-garde producer duo in 2023, which participated in the Sanremo Festival, bringing the song “Il bene nel male” with Madame and recently also worked on Lorenzza’s debut album which, just like First Room on the Right, was immediately signed by Sugar Music. The single is accompanied by a evocative video, with a winter atmosphere which also reverberate throughout the visual concept, starring Rae Ilorin and directed by Bianca Peruzzi. The first to speak to us and introduce us to this young talent was Nayt who explained in our interview: “The flattening of rap is partly the result of the society in which we live. At the same time, in a period of great flattening, which is also reflected in rap, it is inevitable that something else will bubble up, in contrast. Last night I heard a song from First Room on the Right. I recommend it. It will explode”. Meanwhile, the Instagram profile of First room on the right also has followers, among others Hernia, Emma Nolde and Canovademonstrating that with this first ring he brought several spotlights on himself.
