What Ozzy Osbourne Did After Snorting Ants

Embodying the wildness of rock star life, yet managing to survive its excesses, Ozzy Osbourne has always been a hotbed of anecdotes, more or less extreme, more or less real.

Among the most famous stories featuring the former Black Sabbath, there is an episode whose veracity has been questioned several times. The fact in question dates back to 1984, when Osbourne was busy on tour in support of his third solo studio album “Bark at the moon”, followed by Mötley Crüe as support act. As also reported in the biopic on the band of “Girls, girls, girls”, “The dirt” of 2019, in a moment of relaxation at the hotel where the artists were staying, Ozzy decided to sniff a line of ants by the pool. Although over the years both fans and the wife and manager of the voice of “Crazy train”, Sharon, have repeatedly doubted that the prank really happened, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee recently returned to the incident to assure that everything is “absolutely true”.

Speaking on the podcast “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” the Nikki Sixx buddy recalled how during the various stops on the 1984 tour, both his band and Osbourne, no doubt under the influence of large quantities of drugs and alcohol, competed several times to see who could do the craziest thing. Thinking back to when Ozzy snorted ants, Tommy Lee assured: “I know people are always like, ‘Man, is that real?’ And I always say, it’s all fucking true. It’s something that you can’t make up!” He added: “Back then, it was all a competition: we were all out there trying to outdo the rock stars and be the craziest, like going around doing crazy things.” He then said of the episode in question:

“Ozzy was really drunk. He saw a trail of ants heading toward a popsicle that a kid had left on the ground. He looked down and snorted the line of ants heading toward the popsicle. Nikki was like, ‘Well, look at this.’ So he stuck his dick out in the hotel pool, which was like the Four Seasons in Dallas, if I remember correctly, and there were a lot of other people and kids. Nikki then started peeing on the floor and wanted to lick his own urine to get ahead of Ozzy. But before Nikki could do that, Ozzy beat him to it and licked his own pee. We were all like, ‘Okay, Ozzy. You win, man!’”

As if that wasn’t enough, during his chat with Theo Von, the Mötley Crüe drummer also revealed what Ozzy Osbourne did after sniffing ants and licking Nikki Sixx’s urine.

Explaining that things then took an even more disgusting turn, Tommy Lee said: “I then turned to Ozzy and said, ‘Come on, Ozz! They’re throwing us out of the pool. Let me take you up to your room.’ So we went into the elevator, which was packed with people. Ozzy pulled down his pants and started pooping. I was like, ‘Ozzy, man. No, fuck! No!’” Recalling how he managed to stop Osbourne from pooping in the elevator, Lee recalled that the former Black Sabbath man continued his defecation by walking back to his room, albeit far from the bathroom. “I said, ‘Come on, mate, I’ll see you later,’” the drummer said, “But he was like, ‘Come back here.’ So I went up to his room and saw Ozzy picking up his own shit and starting to paint the walls with it. At that point I just walked out!”
