We premiere “Ets una platja” by Violeta Tello Grau with Helena Miquel

“Ets una platja” is a preview of Violeta Tello Grau’s third studio album, “Talking with birds”. The song presents a dialogue between two inner voices, who use metaphors of nature, (“roques fosques i sorra blanca”/”dark rocks and white sand”) to create a magical atmosphere.

Her first album emerged from research on women composers. “Witch Music” (19), which was inspired by Indonesian gamelan music and explained the life of a woman in 11 songs. For this album he also collaborated with Helena Miquel Jesús with whom he has maintained a friendship ever since. Two years later he publishes the double EP “TAPE” (22), danceable and electronic in nature.

Production and mixing is Victor Valientewho always works with Violeta, and who had known Helena since 2013, a time when they were both part of Delafé and the Blue Flowers.

The poem from the single “Ets una platja”, which will be officially published tomorrow, September 30, speaks from a spiritual plane, from the microcosm of a woman full of landscapes. One part of the mind identifies the other with an element of nature and the other voice follows the metaphor and answers (“sorra de lluna”). The music seeks the subtlety and mystery of two inner female voices floating together.
