“Watch Me Gone” is the new single from Mark Knopfler
Mark Knopfler releases a new single titled today “Watch Me Gone”. This is the second song from the album “One Deep River”out April 12. “Watch Me Gone” is the second single from the Newcastle musician’s new album “Ahead of the game”.
As Mark Knopfler tells “Watch Me Gone”: “The dreams of a teenager… for me they have always been the fuel that keeps you going. That’s why I’ll still cross the street to look at a guitar showcase. I remember going to City Hall to see Van Morrison or Bob Dylan and I wanted to do it too. Statistically what are the chances of making it? But I was a young man with a comedic attitude determined to make it…”
“One Deep River” is the tenth album of the former leader’s solo career Dire Straits. The album was produced by Knopfler himself together with his historic collaborator Guy Fletcher and recorded in British Grove Studios in London.
Beyond Mark Knopfler on guitars, the band that accompanied him sees Jim Cox and Guy Fletcher on keyboards, Glenn Worf on the bass, Ian Thomas to the battery e Danny Cummings to percussion, Richard Bennett as second guitar e Greg Leisz to pedal steel guitar; Mike McGoldrick he played flute and bagpipes, John McCusker the violin, while the choirs were performed by the sisters Emma and Tamsin Topolski. All songs were written by Mark Knopfler.
