Wardruna: two dates in Italy in summer

Last November i Wardruna they performed at Arcimboldi Theater of Milan, on 24 November Sony Music and by Norse Music have published Biorn“, The sixth album of the Norwegian band and today the news of the new dates of the world tour arrives.

Among the concerts there are also two appointments in Italy.

On August 5, the band will perform atPompeii excavation amphitheater (NA)
And On August 7 as headliner al Montelago Celtic Festival to Serravalle di Chienti (MC)

The Norwegian band was born in 2003, founded by the singer and multi -instrumentalist Einar “Kvitrafn” Selvik Together with the singer and flutist Lindy Fay Hella and Gaahl (he too singer left the band in 2015). The latter (at the registry office Kristian Espedal) and Selvik previously were part of the Black Metal Band Gorgoroth.

The project is based on the spirituality of the Nordic countries and the first three albums “GAP VAR Ginnunga” (2009), “Yggdrasil” (2013) and “Ragnarok” (2016), make up a trilogy dedicated to runes, the first form of writing of the populations of Northern Europe and related rites.

The Metal Hammer magazine described the music of the Wardruna as “a conjunction between the ground, the staff and the ethereal” with “rites based on the runic”, while Kerrang! He wrote that “the Wartruna can be in contrast with the world Modern, but, perhaps, they are exactly what the modern world needs “.

In their instrumentation, old tools such as the Nordic predecessor ancient Moraharpa of the violin dating back to 1500, as well as flutes and other traditional and popular instruments and many percussion appear.

The Wardruna return to our country where they have already played on 22 and 23 January 2023 two dates sold out al Dal Verme in Milan and last November 7, 2024 at the Arcimboldi Theater in Milan.
