From Vasco to the Rolling Stones: the week of the rock gods

Vasco Rossi promotes a theater course in his Zocca

An experimental theater course wanted by Vasco Rossi and aimed at those over 14 years old will start in the first quarter of 2026 in its Bitchin the province of Modena. The course will be supervised by the actor Andrea Ferrari and will be located in the theater dedicated to the 73-year-old singer-songwriter.

The mayor of the town of Modena Federico Ropa he officially thanked Vasco Rossi with a press release: “We are proud to announce that the new year will bring with it an important innovation for our territory, the result of the precise will of our fellow citizen, Vasco Rossi. In fact, an experimental theater course conducted by Andrea Ferrari and aimed at those over 14 years old will begin in January; it will take place in Zocca, right in the theater dedicated to Vasco. The experimental theater proposed by Vasco Rossi finds an important foundation in his personal and professional history, so much so that this art is recognized as having the possibility of “helping” people to get to know each other, to improve interpersonal relationships through the preparatory game, creating in them the desire to expose themselves and escape from the virtual reality that social media and the internet have built. For us, this project represents an important step forward for the cultural and artistic growth of our community; naming it after Vasco Rossi means paying homage to an artist who was able to speak to entire generations, transmitting passion, authenticity and the courage to believe in one’s dreams center of this educational path. I therefore thank Vasco for having proposed, believed in and wanted this course. I wish all the members and the artists who will animate this school a journey full of emotions, commitment and satisfaction.”

For his part, Vasco recalled his theatrical past when he attended the Tanari accounting institute in Bologna: “It was the very early 70s, there was a great cultural ferment in those years and Bologna, with its university, was a cutting-edge city. I was 16/18 years old, I came down from the mountains and for me being in Bologna was like being in New York. When Alvarez, a theater actor, launched his courses I I introduced myself immediately, intrigued. There were many of us, he gave us… let’s say, an audition: he asked each of us to scream… It wasn’t easy, but when my turn came I screamed instinctively and with all the energy I had in my body. Naturally he chose me and let me join the company, an extraordinary period for me, which allowed me to listen to myself, to understand myself and also to understand what I really wanted to become. Today I like to think that, just as it helped me, experimental theater can also help others. Art creates commitment, art creates escape. Art creates. And it allows you to work on emotions, your own and those of others, in a sharing that is real”.
