Vasco Rossi: concerts at the San Siro stadium in Milan on TV
Today, in prime time on Canale 5, “Vasco Rossi – I Magnifici 7” will be broadcast. A special written and directed by Giorgio Verdelli, hosted by Claudio Amendola, dedicated to Vasco Rossi and his 7 concerts at the San Siro Stadium in Milan last June, which attracted 400,000 spectators from all over Italy (read our review of the concert here).
The film is built with images of the 7 concerts in Milan, testimonies collected from the audience and an interview with Vasco in an empty stadium. A full immersion in the seven concerts at San Siro (which bring his record to 36 sold out at the Meazza Stadium) told by Claudio Amendola who also explores the backstage.
Among the audience at the stadium were the friends of the “Komandante”. Among these, Eros Ramazzotti recalls that they began their career together, 40 years ago, and have remained close ever since, Giuseppe Fiorello and his son Nicola, Luca Argentero, Noemi, Emma also provides their contribution, Roberto Bolle, in love with “Albachiara”, J-Ax, Flavia Pennetta, Roberta Vinci and Ornella Muti. There is no shortage of young singer-songwriters, attracted by the poetics of Vasco, like Tedua, Bresh, Riccardo Zanotti from I Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, Gazzelle and Olly.
Vasco Rossi he confides to the director in his long interview: “I like to think of myself as the voice of the voiceless. I am the voice of humble, normal people who have 60,000 problems, anxieties. I am their voice and, in the end, we hear each other everyone a little better. In the songs I am honest and sincere, I tell what comes from inside me. I have made many mistakes in life and telling them has freed me an extraordinary thing happened: when I tell them, those who have them inside themselves feel represented and feel lighter by sharing. The worst thing is feeling alone.”
“Why talk about Vasco again after everything that has been said, seen, written and filmed?” – asks the director George Verdelli – “Because perhaps what still remains to be understood is not so much Vasco in the first person, but the Vasco that is in all of us, that is, how a mountain boy, rock star by profession, singer-songwriter by training and communicator by vocation managed to so profoundly modify the common taste of Italian music and the attitude of society in the last 40 years”.
