United States: Survey Determines 'Dad Rock Band'

A survey published by Merchoid, a clothing and general merchandise store, has determined the 10 best 'dad rock' bands. Merchoid asked this question to a sample of 3,000 people in the United States: “What band truly embodies 'dad rock' today?”

Nickelback earned the title of 'dad rock band' par excellence, collecting over a quarter of the votes.

Following, paired, Van Halen and Blink-182 who overtake Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana. It's up to you which nuance to give to the term dad rock.

This survey should be taken for what it's worth, it's first and foremost fun. The situation is not absolutely immobile, it varies from one year to the next, but it cannot be denied that it is a litmus test to measure the passage of time: thirty years ago Nirvana were the voice of a new generation now, in the imagination, they are the voice of a generation of dads. The same reasoning can be applied, only ten years later, to Linkin Park. It can be underlined that Van Halen are the only band active since the 70s, while the eighties have Bon Jovi and Guns N' Roses as their champions.

Classification:

01. Nickelback (26%)

02. Van Halen (12%)

02. Blink-182 (12%)

04. Red Hot Chili Peppers (10%)

05. Nirvana (10%)
