U2 releases “Zoo TV – Live In Dublin 1993”
Island Records and UMR announce the release of the EP by U2 “Zoo TV – Live In Dublin 1993”. The Extended Play contains five tracks taken from one of the two live performances at the RDS Arena in Dublin in August 1993, the European leg of the “Zooropa” Tour. On CD and 12” vinyl pressed in a limited edition plus digital (including Spatial Audio/Atmos).
Although bootleg copies have been circulating for years, this release is the first official one. “ZOO TV” is the world tour that, between February 1992 and December 1993, supported the release of “Warning Baby”album released by the band in November 1991.
In those years the U2 They played to 5.3 million fans at 157 shows, during a period that also saw them record and release, in July 1993, the studio album “Zooropa”The show, which took place in Dublin on August 28, was broadcast live worldwide during a radio program, allowing approximately 700 million fans around the world to share in the excitement of the concert.
The ‘ZOO TV Tour’ is considered one of the most ambitious tours ever: it broke the mold in 1991 and its influence is still felt today. The U2 have consistently pushed the boundaries of live performance with innovative shows featuring state-of-the-art technology.
