Two Years After His Death, Live Tribute to Mark Lanegan in London
With a post on the official Instagram page of Mark Lanegan the announcement of an upcoming live tribute to the iconic vocalist of the Screaming Trees.
“Mark Lanegan – A Celebration” will be held at the Roundhouse next December, on what would have been the artist’s 60th birthday.
Presented by Mark Lanegan Foundation and Kilimanjaro Live, the event, scheduled for Thursday, December 5, will feature a stellar lineup that includes Josh Homme, Dave Gahan, Chrissie Hynde, Bobby Gillespie, Greg Dulli, Alison Mosshart and the Soulsavers as a house band.
This special tribute honors Lanegan’s legacy as one of the most beloved and revered voices in modern music, with key collaborators and close friends reuniting to perform his songs and share stories of his life.
The event is particularly poignant, as the Roundhouse was the venue for his last performance in London.

Mark William Lanegan (1964-2022) in 1984 he founded the Screaming Trees of which he remained the frontman until the band’s first breakup, after seven studio albums, in 1997, the year in which Lanegan faced drug and alcohol rehabilitation. The band would return in 1999 and then definitively close in 2000.
Alongside his activity with the band, the singer embarks on a solo career. The first album with his signature dates back to 1990 (“The Winding Sheet”, released by Sub Pop).
In 2001 he joined the Queens of the Stone Age with which he participates in the success of the album “Songs for the Deaf” of 2002. Since 2003 his albums have been published under the “brand” Mark Lanegan Band and in 2005 the couple Mark Lanegan was born – Greg Dulli with the project that goes under the name of Gutter Twins.
Lanegan’s many collaborations include those with Isobel Campbell (ex Belle & Sebastian), Mad Season, Melissa Auf der Maur, Soulsavers and his close relationship with the After Hours who have often played with him both in America and in Italy.
On February 22, 2022, Mark Lanegan was found dead in his home in Ireland from the consequences of Covid 19 after he had recovered from the disease.
